Connecting HDTV to desktop

Hi

Just wondering if someone can give me some advice please? I've just connected my 32 inch HDTV to my desktop via HDMI cable and set it as my secondary monitor. My graphics card (Radeon HD 6870) supports HD.

When I check the resolution it is listed as 1920*1080 (recommended). The text looks kinda distorted on the 32 inch but not on my 22inch primary monitor. If i increase the text size the distortion goes....any ideas why? When playing HD content the video quality doesn't seem to be affected on the 32inch, just text & icons. Thanks

I have noticed that by setting the text size (DPI) it does improve things on the 32 inch.

monitors and TV's are completely different even though they appear to do the same thing. PC monitors used to (not sure if it's still true) give a better resolution so you do really have to just fiddle about
