Electrical certificate?

We had a fuse box changed and an electric shower installed in 2008. We don't remember being given a certificate, but we may well have lost it.
We are now selling the property and we're not sure what to do? I have tried calling the electrician, but the mobile number I had is no longer in use.
He was legit!
Do we have to get somebody in to inspect the electrics? Indemnity policy?
Any help gratefully received!

I think that you can apply for one in retrospect, your solicitor should be able to advise you on this as they deal with this sort of thing regularly. If you can get it done prior to getting an offer, even better, as then your house sale can progress. (We have had to wait for one in retrospect recently!)0
