Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday, 11th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Looks a it gloomy and overcast here today, meant to be having rain later on.Off to work today, only another week or so and I am on holiday :j
Dinner tonight is chicken chips and peas, cold chicken left from mondays roast, and the 'chips' hm oven chips so nice and easy
Need to do another wash tonight, and I have sainsugs delivering, will ask dd to clean the kitchen and lounge for me.
Has anyone else noticed that the evenings and mornings are much cooler ? it feels really autumnal to me, we dont normally get this till mid - end Sept, hope its not a sign of a cold winter.
OK I had better get on, have good days all xx
Anniestar, How are you my lovley ??
Is Hester on her honeymoon yet ?
Hugs where needed x

Morning all! I'm off to Scotland tomorrow and have SO much to organise before i go! OH has decided he doesn't want me to make lunches for him so that's something. But still need to get some food sorted so he can atleast make lunches and dinner. So going to pick up (hopefully whoopsied because it's waitrose) bread, steak, chips, crisps, for him. I want tuna but refuse to pay their prices for a tin so will have to go without i think. We have sausages in the freezer so will get them out too for him. (i'm hoping he'll go to his mum's for sunday dinner
)
I bought 2 books yesterday for my journey, need to get some music on my ipod too.
I think i could do with doing one more clothes wash, put all clean clothes away, clean kitchen and give the rest of the house a once over. I also need to pack my bag and work out my journey. I'm planning to get up at about 5 tomorrow to make sure everything is sorted.
Locked BIL out the house last night as he keeps using the window onto the flat roof as a door, so thats locked and i've hidden the key.... I also leave my phone alarm going off while i go downstairs to get ready for work.... hahaha.
Have a lovely day all xAnnual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning everyone
Overcast but dry here at the moment. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Dinner last night was lamb casserole, roast potatoes and veg, banana custard for dessert. Tonight's dinner will be HM lasagne and chips for the menfolk, I'll have salad with mine and HM bread.
Collected the boys yesterday so house is loud and lively again! Boys and myself have dentist appointments this morning, will be coming straight home after to get stuck in to jobs that need doing, must get some ironing, cleaning done, so will crack on with that. Will be menu planning and creating shopping list too, will then do food shopping tomorrow then some baking for the tins as they are empty. We're going away in the caravan this weekend not far away though so just be nice to get away. Only have this next week at work Monday to Wednesday then I'm off for 2 weeks, can't wait! Really feeling the need for some time off, last time I actually had proper time off/holiday was February half term - seems a long time ago now!! Will start organising kit we need to take away on holiday with us, have already got the camping fridge out of the loft from when we replaced the fridge/freezer - didn't see the point of putting it back in the loft to get it out again in a few weeks, it's also quite big, heavy and only just fits through the loft hatch so am always worried about damaging it. Will also be checking this weekend to see what supplies I have in the caravan to see what I need to stock up on.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning redruby and everyone else
Bit drizzly but sunny here this morning; think washing will be on airer as I'm trying to not use the drier. Got to go into town today as we had DGS Monday to Wednesday and I didn't feel like dragging 3 kids into town! Working tomorrow, too, so need to do banking, shopping etc. today.
Something on a friend's FBK about a small petrol bomb at a business at the top of our village overnight - we didn't hear anything, though. Even here we get some right pillocks!
Need to crack on with magazine stitching, winter/Chr*****s preparation, too - sorry for the C word!
Hope everyone's ok who lives in riot-affected areas - hugs and kisses all round.

Morning everyone,
Thank goodness for the rain, it seems to have stopped the rioting for at least one night!
Today the rain has stopped but it is dull and overcast, I am not sure whether the washing will dry.
It is really quiet in my house with only one child, I never thought that I would miss the noise and chaos, at least it is tidier than usual!
Tea tonight is something with sausages and some more of my home grown potatoes and salad.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning.
Today is my last 'free' day of my holidays, was planning a trip out and about as I have spent most of my 2 weeks off in the kitchen LOL, but it is tipping down.........
I have ordered a delivery from Mr S, but had to have it delivered at 9pm+ tonight or pay £6.50 delivery from tomorrow. I am quite proud of myself as I spent approx £50 inc del and £10 on pet food, I could normally easily spend £100+ so the new me is winning so far.
I hope your all safe and well, will update my siggy after Mr S has delivered. XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Morning all
Grey and windy here but at least it's warm. It's folk week here, at least it's stayed mainly dry for people camping. I'm not really into it having done it to death when I was with ExOH.
Hope everyone is safe and well this morning.
Plan today to hoover, tidy and potter in the garden. Have got a gym class this morning. Think there's something wrong with ExOH at the mo, he put petrol in my car the other day, bought me coffee yesterday and a burger and a beer in the evening, he's not renowned for his generosity :rotfl:. Tea tonight is LO chicken, need to strip the carcass and make stock.
Have a good day all and big hugs to anyone who needs one.

morning!
my friend has gone home this morning, lovely to see her although its nice to have my house back!
Am off to work later so doing a few jobs this morning.
Have tidied up, stripped the spare bed and hoovered upstairs, swept downstairs. WM is on. Still got to do ironing but am having my boiled egg and toast before I do anything else.
DH had gone back to work, head still sore but he seems to have recovered ok. He's remembered how he did it and the fact that a lady he knows who is always out early helped him and wanted to call the ambulance but he persuaded her not to.
Need to have stern words with DS1 over his finances:mad:
thats it for now I think.
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Just popped on to say JackieG, congratulations on your DH's new job! :T:T:T0
