Hi

today i got an iphone 4 16GB for £35.75 plus VAT on a 24 month contract from vodafone

the sales guy says that the first installment will come out of my account on 23 August because 'thats the way it works'

can anyone tell me why this is? I would have thought it would be 10th September

    It is not unusual for the first payment to be out of sync; it takes them a few days to get the direct debit and stuff set up.
    It may also be that they've chosen a particular date as your payment date and the first one will be less for a part month.

    they said it would be a full months subscription that they are taking out, I asked the question why as it is only 2 weeks of phone use, and they said that it's just the way that its done, he did say that after the 23rd I can pick my own payment date

    On another matter, if I put in a mobile number as a new contact, there is a gap between the first 5 numbers and the others ie
    12345 678910 and when I send a text it comes back as 'failure to send' this gap is automatically put in as I'm typing in the numbers

    does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    I tried that link but it takes me all around the houses...have you got an email addy?

    also I just tried to set up an account, it got as far as 'step 3' account number and it would not accept my account number, this is the one that is on the invoice I was given when I got the phone.
