Electric Meter Check?
Comments
-
The people that the utility companies get to check are not employed by the utility company and they have to formally certify their check.
Meters very rarely are faulty. However it is quite easy to carry out a basic check yourself. Switch off everything(including fridge and freezer) and check your meter reading accutately and that the wheel is not moving. Then put on something with a known power rating(without a thermostat) like a 1kw 1 bar heater for an hour and it should read 1 unit.(1 kWh)0 -
If after following Cardew's advice you still want it checked, you would need to ask your utility supplier and you would be charged unless they find fault with the meter.0

Sound advice from Cardew.

I would always perform the checks suggested cos to have your meter checked by the Utilities will cost you dear
