I am in a very bad mood today  !!
Whilst using my laptop last night, I was overstretching and fell on the laptop which caused the inside of the screen to crack. This now renders the laptop unusable - feel like such a clown!!!!!!!
Can anybody here advise whether I can claim against my home insurance for this sort of thing - and if so do I tell the insurance company how it happened - ie accidental damage.
Please give me some good news.
Thanks

If u have accidental damage in your policy you may be covered. My mate spilt coke all over his & got paid out. They did say at the time that coke is the one drink that absolutely totals laptops!0

Just before christmas my husband dropped remote control from tv onto my laptop it was closed at the time, but like yours the screen was rendered useless . I took laptop to a shop to be mended and they could not get a screen to fit. The manager asked can,t you claim on your insurance? Rang insurance told them the truth, insurance asked for 2 quotes for a like for like machine and a letter from shop who were going to mend it to the fact it was to costly or unable to repair. Within 10 days I recieved a cheque and a now searching for a new one. I had never claimed on insurance for 20 years so dont know if this was the reason claim was straightforward, but i would advocate you tell the truth.:hello:What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
sorry forgot to add insurance company did ask for the machine to be available for one of their people to inspect it if neccessary:hello:What goes around - comes around

Most insurers cover entertainment equipment for accidental damage as standard (but obviously read your policy), if you have gone with a budget insurer that doesnt offer this then you will have needed to have paid for the AD extended cover. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
