Charged twice

I bought two inter rail passes online through Rail Europe and my computer froze at the time of purchasing. It was not until I received confirmation that I realised that my order had been duplicated. As it was a bank holiday I could not call to rectify this and couldn't get through to speak to someone until the following Tuesday at 10am, which by that time they told me it was too late to cancel the order. Rail Europe won't give me a full refund as they said there was no system error. Is there anything I can do?

As it was unfortunately your error, I think you will need to accept the 85% refund.

    (Which bank holiday was this?)
  • It was the may bank holiday. It's just annoying that if it was any other day I could have called up and cancelled the order. The woman I finally spoke to said that if I had called earlier I could have stopped the order. I told her I had tried continually to get through and left messages and sent emails.
