Newbie - Go Easy on Me!! Need Energy Advice

I'm now thinking "better the devil you know"!!!
I think I'll just phone Scottish Hydro and see if they can reduce my bills,
I meant to scare you but not scare you off "fixed price".
Well at least you would have British, and often Scottish, contact centres. But if you phone, prepare to end up confused, and if you compare post-increase prices you may notice that Scottish Hydro is less than competitive.
The only "non-confusing" pricing is "fixed-price". Your choice but at least make an informed decision by doing a comparison and selecting "fixed or capped".
Being on a "fixed priced tariff" also provides peace of mind. Given your anxiety about the issue that might provide some comfort.0 -
Thanks again everyone!!
I dont even know what rate I was looking at that npower gave me, I'm afraid I've lost quite a few brain cells due to pregnancy and still raising 2 toddler boys!!
Hydro have reduced my electricity DD as I have been paying a bit more than I should have, I have also opted for paperless billing which will reduce my bills by a further 1%. I have also opted for iplan which is just being energy efficient and will be sent a monitor so i can see where I'm using the most power!! I am not tied into anything so can change in the future, I'm just apprehensive to do it now!!
But thanks again for all your advice, you really do make a difference to people like me, who really don't have a clue!!Go easy on me, I'm a newbie

Fine, but remember that reducing your DD does not take a single penny off your bills. It's your consumption that determines your final bills. No free lunch, and no free laptop
