How silly (Buyer Requirements)

I sold something yesterday that I list on the last free listing weekend.
My listing stated I would post to the UK only, a buyer in Uruguay won the item, I just spoke to someone via chat and they said that as I had two Buyer Requirements set that as they met one of them they were able to bid.
The two buyer requirements I had were 'Block buyers whose primary shipping address is in a location I don't ship to' and block anyone who has 2 unpaid item strikes in the last x months'.
How silly, so it seems you can only have one buyer requirement ticked out of all the ones listed.
Now I have to e-mail the buyer to say that I am not posting the item (is a backpack) to them, so will probably get a neg now.
I have more than one buyer requirement set on my Business account and have never had anyone bid from a country I do not post to before.
Anyone else had this?

Try live chat and see if they will tell you the correct details.
Either your buyer requirements weren't set on the item or the buyer was not registered in the correct country.
On the odd occasion it has happened to me I've worked out the cost for signed for postage and invoiced the buyer accordingly, either they pay up or they don't, it puts you as the seller in a much stronger position and less open to negs or other seller related problems..0 -
Thanks for replying. I was chatting to someone on Live Chat.
I've e-mailed the buyer to say that the listing stated UK only and that I am unsure as to how they were able to bid.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
You don't only need your overall preferences set but you need to make sure that under postage the 'no international postage' option is chosen. It will sometimes default to allowing International bids.
I have a lot more thna one bidder requirement set and looking at my blocked bidder logs they all work!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I must just add that I am getting a bit teed off at the rubbish ebay and paypal customer reps spout. I can't decide if they are just stupid or working to such tight answering times that they blatantly lie to get people off the phone.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin, I have my preferences set to exclude certain European countries but do I need to tick all the others as well ie. the main heading for South America shows up so do I just tick that or do I have to tick all the countries underneath it?

Soolin, I too have numerous requirements for bidders and they must be working too, but is there a way you can see who has actually tried(and failed) to bid or am i reading your post wrong?

I did talk to someone on Ebay with a customer service issue and ended up telling him how their system worked. I think it is a question of them only fielding calls to make people feel better, I'd guess no more than one in ten of those who answer are actually long term Ebay employees with any knowledge of the company, if any of them are even employed by Ebay..0 -

Best to tick everything as I think geography is another thing that ebay sometimes get wrong.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Wow, what an eyeopner. I have just checked the blockd buyer activity log and am amazed/pleased at the amount of blocks it has made. Sure some may say well they are potential customers you have lost but all the items in question have sold and with no problems so I have suffered no loss and no aggrevation. Brilliant.0
