Hi all Newbie here
We have recently moved into another property our bank failed to acknowledge our new landlords account details and sent them to our old agent (who we now no longer have a contract with) i called the old agent to be told they would sent us a cheque we received the cheque with a £30 deduction for admin reasons i phoned them and asked why this was so and they could not justify and asked us to refer to our contract(we dont have one) To cut a long story short the bank have done it again and have apologised but are questioning the reason why they are just not declining the payment and sending us a cheque less admin fee. Do they have a right to deduct money?
help please

I agree - there is some degree of hassle involved for your old agent, which is presumably why they are deducting this admin fee, but it's really your bank's fault so I would purse them for the difference and ask why the heck they can't get the payment right! Do you have online banking? Can you see the account info that way to check that they are using the correct details in future?0
