I need to replace my single build in oven which is currently rated 2.1kw and is wired to a 13 amp plug but i have seen another oven i like and its rated at 3kw.
The question i am asking i currently have a 30amp (red) breaker which is currently got my ceramic hob on it and is rated at 5.5kw/6kw could i just connect the oven to this curcuit as well as the hob or will i have to run a complete new curcuit to supply the oven?

A quick calculation shows that your hob comes in at 26amps and your new oven comes in at 12.5amps max (combined, they exceed the 30 amps of the isolation switch).
I would suggest you need a separate circuit (you should check the installation instructions of the oven as it may be able to be plugged into a standard socket although at 12.5amps max, I would not be comfortable doing that and would probably just install a separate circuit or buy an oven that has a lower rating).
Perhaps one of the sparkey's who post here will confirm the above...0 -
most kettles are now 3kw they are not on dedicated supplies. 3kw is ok to use a plug, although always refer to manufactures instructions. the oven will never be run at max temp.0

I just looked on there website and it say's " Requires 15-20amp fuse box and cooker point."
So just wondering if i spurred off the cooker point to a 45 amp fuse cooker point?
I am not sure about putting a plug on it, the only thing on that ring main where the cooker is plugged in is the fridge and microwave...0
