Hi! I always read a lot about balance transfers etc but I can't get my head around it so I'm hoping if I put out my situation on here someone can advise me of the best routes to take!
I have an HSBC graduate account with £2000 overdraft (maxed out) but only £1000 interest free - which ends next July. I am going travelling for a year from feb and have been saving hard - basically I could pay the whole lot off before I go but I am almost guaranteed to run out of money in that case and this is a once in a lifetime trip I dont want to mess up! But I also don't want to be paying a fortune on interest while I'm away
So, is there another option eg balance transfers or something that can put some or all of this effectively on hold for a while so I can address it when I get back? or can you see a completely different route? Any opinions welcome
