Working Holiday VISA to Australia

Hi there,
My partner and I want to go to Australia on a working holiday VISA, but when she was a little blighter she got into a scrap with some of her classmates and got a conviction for assault. She was only 16 and I know it sounds like an episode from Shameless but will this affect our application in any way? Bit concerned especially as she only just told me and we have been together 3 years!
