You should actually get all that on Wikipedia if you type in the names of the towns you want to research. My advice would be to take a drive round in the evening after dark as well and see who, if anyone, hangs around the streets you're thinking of living in.

Blimey, there's a lot about Burnley and surrounding areas on here at the mo!

I'd just ask on here. Better off to get verbal opinions than go by statistics on a website.

Alternatively, you can get a very vague idea of the average whatevers on here: http://www.upmystreet.com/burnley.html - hover over the tabs at the top for more info. Obviously places vary so much, it'll be impossible to give you accurate information, more of a general overview.

    Try http://www.upmystreet.com
It has a physical description, but also links to education, crime figures etc etc

    I live in Oswaldtwistle, Accrington.

Nothing would persuade me to move to Burnley which is about 20 minutes away from me.

Just dont do it this week.

I have a friend who has lived all their lives in Burnley, currently live just outside nr Earby, another colleague who lives in the outskirts in a beautiful rural area. I guess it depends where....you can only know by going although upmystreet can be useful for raw data as can wiki.
  • check police website as well.

I have found car insurance websites to be a good indicator as well.
