Hi all,
My new ISP didn't use the MAC code that I gave them to migrate me over to them.
I am under the impression that the old ISP still have to cancel my contract on the date that my new ISP took over, even if the new ISP didn't use the MAC code, can someone confirm whether I am correct in saying that, please?
Just drafting my letter to Ofcom!
Thanks, K

Save the stamp - it's up to you to terminate your contract. Even on the occasions where a MAC is necessary it is quite common for BT to fail to notify the losing ISP when they action it so it always pays to confirm that you have moved on.
Asking for the MAC is usually accepted as notice that you will be leaving but there is no compulsion to do so and if you don't use it the contract just continues.0 -

If the MAC was not used how would the old ISP know you had left them if you did not inform them?0
