Yamaha Price Fixing

I wanted to buy a Yamaha PSR550 keyboard and saw one in Dolphin Music in Gateshead Metro Centre for £603.
I thought I'd scout round the internet for a better price.
Every single search I did came up with £603 - not even £602.99!
I found 8 sources all at £603.
How can I shop around if the price is the same everywhere?
Weren't Yamaha brought to book about price fixing before?

how can you say this is the manufacturer? I could be the retailer, quite frequently play.com will drop a price and all of a sudden amazon do the same - its all about supply, demand and competition.

Not only that...but you might be looking for a cheaper price, but where do you stop and complain too many are too expensive? Too many are in cahoots?

Its all business at the end of the day - if you want the keyboard bad enough...you'll pay for it...
  • Don't disagree but "shopping around" is pointless if you don't get a variation of some sort.
What I will do is negotiate in store - something that is a lttle difficult to do online.

Isn't it also for sale between £603-£700 so surely that just means £603 is the cheapest price it's available for?

shopping around is not a right to a cheaper price - sometimes you won't get them cheaper...fact unfortunately.
  • I didn't find a base price higher or lower than £603. Even eBay.
Haggling in the store is the best option.
