Hi,
I'm with a Virgin media (TV, broadband and phone) as my 1yr minimum contract comes to an end I called as I don't need the phone anymore. First I was told that I pay more without a phone but after proving the guy that he's wrong he admitted I will not pay more but then when I told him I would like to cancel the phone line he told me I can;t do it until my minimum contract is over and I have to give them 30 days notice. I've told him, since there is 30 days till the contract expires can I give you the notice now ? He told me that no, I need to wait till the end and than cancel. This means I'll have to pay an extra month before cancellation. Is this right ? Can they do that ?

If it costs nothing (and saves nothing) why not just stop using it and forget about cancelling it?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

It does cost, it was a bundle deal, but without the phone I'll pay roughly £5 less pcm. The question is did they lied to me that I can't give them a notice (that I want to cancel my phone subscription after the minimum term) before contract runs out.Regards,

Well now it's too late. My contract ends in 2 days, I just want to find out is there a customer right that proves that I should be able to give them notice when still under contract.Regards,
