Quick help needed - HPI report

Just bought a car on ebay for £2300without viewing. Due round in 45 min with deposit.

Need to do a instant HPI check, ebay has one for £9.

Are there and other better cheaper ones?

Wish me luck!

I would recommend an hpi check from RAC or hpi direct - Quite comprehensive - it cost about £15
    I owe £3233 @ 0%

MyTextCheck is about £3 - not exactly comprehensive but quick and cheap. Will tell you if it is nicked and what the chassis number should be so you can see if it is a ringer.

The op may get lucky, there are some decent sellers on eBay, the best car I have ever owned was a vauxhall vectra estate about 10 years old, I live in Somerset, the car was in lake district, so could not get to view it, cost me just under a grand, which included years mot, years tax and delivery, and it was in perfect condition, we had it for over 5 Years went through every mot no problems, only ever had to get the usual for it in meantime like exhaust, tyres etc, only got rid obce our 3rd child arrived,so there are good ones out there, and before you say yes but there is a big price difference, it's all relative to what you can afford, a grand to us then and now to put it that way is alot of money
Take every day as it comes!!
  • Thanks all, well i'm quite savvy when it comes to cars. I've had plenty, bought and sole on ebay many times. It's only round corner and it's 69K for rather than 120K for the less money.

Wanted to do HPI (which came up clear) before i popped round with cash deposit.

All looks good, only thing to do it take it off disability tax.

If it's only round the corner and a classified listing, why didn't you view it before buying?

What difference does it make. If the car's not up to scratch and not as described the OP can simply walk away. No money has yet changed hands.
  • There is that...though I do consider myself a 'good' ebayer and would pay the agreed price as log as it was as described.

Reason for the rush is I'm off on holiday in an hour and if I didn't sort today I don't have time to do anything until mid September.

So took a risk, but I think this un will pay dividends.

    Thanks all.
