I have signed up for a "Car Free Day" on 22nd August at my workplace. My employers, a local authority, are going to provide a free one day travel pass for persons who usually come to work by car :T
This means I'll save just over £10.00DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
28th October 2019 - £13,505 - 27% paid off.

hi guys a late posting for me today - I happened to have an incident with a load of fermented grapes yesterday which has left me pretty ineffective all day
:o:o roll on a nice bath, mani, pedi & facial in a bit when the house is empty to recuperate & an early night!
therefore my list is pretty sad today...- brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores
- egg & chips for the boys for tea - cheap and easy! :T
- quick look through the fridge to make sure food gets eaten up & not perish - have been doing much better at this recently :money:
- hang up washing, give a couple of bits a bit of attention before putting in the machine
- start a new book - The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Gallaxy (off of my 101 list
)
- call ex mil using free mins after 7 as she has come out of hospital today :A
- read martin's email
- dig out thank you card to my friend to post tomorrow - kinda dfw as she loaned us her flat in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago!
- sew buttons on things needing repair - I think I'm beyond taking things up today!

- checked banking & shifted funds

Today I shall mainly be at work (clearly not getting much done right now!!) but here are my DFW for today- [STRIKE]Chase O2 - they deducted £10 from my bank account, but haven't yet topped up my Mobile Broadband after telling me the transaction had failed. I've faxed them over a bank statement showing the money going in. Just hope they accept an internet statement and upload my data before I need to use it tomorrow[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Lunch - homemade soup I stole from my parent's freezer. I go to my parent's for tea on a Monday, it's always some type of HM soup and HM bread and there is always some of last week's in the freezer which none of them ever eat.[/STRIKE]
- After work I have Slimming World (aka fat club)... I usually drive the mile and a half there but may walk - however we are suffering torrential rain again today so that is doubtful
- [STRIKE]At fat club, stay within target range so I don't have to pay £4.95[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Tea will possibly be some HM lasagne I have in the freezer, altho I didn't take it out so maybe not... It will be something cheap and cheerful anyway
[/STRIKE]
Hmm, so the only thing I didn't get done was walking to fat club. In my defence I got stuck in roadworks for over half an hour so was already late, and the torrential rain - well I wasn't walking anywhere, got soaked walking to my car!!

Okies here's what I managed to get done today:
- Made a big stew for dinner which will also be my main staple tomorrow
- Used only ingredients which needed to be eaten and were discounted from previous shop
- Walked to post box rather than drove
- Posted old prepay gas card with a chance to win money for doing so
- Spent some time on coupon forums printing/collating for big savings on tomorrow's shop
- Spent at least an hour hunting for best deal on Frontline spot-on rather than buying first I found
- Had WM on over night and put clothes on CH in sun to dry for free
- Increased efficiency of fridge by fishing the remains of the tonic (added a little gin to help with this)
- Had MP3 player on for background music instead of large wasteful television
- Asked friend to repay some money owed and got it this time
