Saniflo

Please can someone help? I have a saniflow toilet and I`m fed up of telling people not to put anything in it except pee, poo and paper. People think this includes wipes of any description. I`ve lost count now of how many times I`ve had to call the plumber out to sort it. I`m sure I read on here about a youtube video to show you how to repair the mascerator. It costs £102 to get it sorted. My OH is willing to give it a go before we call them out again. Does anyone have a link to the video? Thanks, Sue.

  • I think the process is fairly simple but may involve removing the toilet.Sear on Google for "Procedure to unblock a Saniflo macerator....... Anyone?" which should bring up a Yahoo Answers page (the forum won't let me post a link :o(

I've got a macerator in my flat on the second floor. I wouldn't want to attempt to take it apart incase I caused a leak, but if it was on ground floor I'd give it a go.

If you do call plumbers out, get OH to watch the plumber as he sorts it and then he can see if it's something he can do if it happens again.

I've found it's helful to put a note on the loo saying not to flush the wrong stuff down it!

Hope this helps - Good luck to your OH if he attempts it!

Thanks so much. OH has watched before but I would`nt let him touch it. Now I`m so fed up with it he can have a go. I do have a notice up in 4 languages that came with it. Its just people think that baby wipes are always paper. I need to change the sign. Thanks again.

As well as the little warning label on the seat lid I have put a little photo frame on the wall with a notice in it saying only put TOILET tissue in this loo. Never had a problem.
  • Where are they getting the baby wipes from? If you're leaving them near the toilet that is asking for trouble.

If they're taking their own in, then padlock the toilet door on the outside and strip-search everyone before they go in.

Taking the lightbulb out and spraying the walls with cat pee will make the facility unappealing to women and children who cause 99% of the problems with S*n*f*os, leaving the facility available for men to use for No. 1s. which is about all a S*n*f*o can handle.

The procedure for unblocking one is here

It was my great neice. She`s 5 years old. She was cleaning my fridge with a couple of baby wipes (helping me) then she went upstairs to the loo. Came down with no wipes! I didnt say anything as her mum is ill and didnt want to worry her. People dont get that these wipes arent paper. My OH has now put a lock on the door. Thanks for all the help. He`s going to have a go this weekend. Cant make it any worse can he?

You'll soon find out when your hubby is covered in everyones !!!!!! except his own and he has launched said saniflo into orbit.

Saniflos were invented by the French as revenge for Waterloo and Agincourt. You don't think the French actually use them do you?
