    You may also be right.
    My assumsion goes a bit further. To get a 50% discount I also assumed it would be a clothes shop, as there is not many retailers who make 50% or more profit on their goods.
    I hope the OP comes back to us, the suspense is now killing me.

    Or maybe cosmetics? Certainly there is nothing like that margin in electronics!

    Sorry, I was a bit vague. I work in a fashion retail store, and we're expected to wear the clothes to work in.

    surely you would know if it was faulty or potentially faulty?

    I get very generous staff discounts in my trade (hotel Manager), but I would never quote legal reasons for rejection if I got poor service. I would of course feed back to the host management if there are aspects of the service which need addressing.

    We'd know if it was faulty at purchase, but not necessarily potential faults, especially when stock is new and we havent had any customer returns yet.
