Clarks Shoes. Fantastic with kids.

Options
Took my 1 year old to have His feet measured for new shoes. Staff were immediately helpful upon walking in. Happy and smiley.

I was seen within 2 minutes of sitting in the waiting area. The Lady assistant came over with a form and asked to take a photo of my Son for the chart She then handed to me. She also showed me when She removed My Son's photo from the camera.

Although My Son wasn't too happy about having new shoes tried on, the Lady assistant was very pleasant and swift at what she was doing. Great!!!

I chose the pair I wanted and she immediately went to the till, paid for the shoes and even got several smiles and 'goodbye's from the staff.

All in all, a very pleasant and friendly experience. Lovely staff and fantastic shoes!! Well worth the money too. I will not be going anywhere else for my children's shoes.

The store I visited was in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Highly recommended.

Very happy customer of a Son with the happiest feet :-)

I think it depends what clarks you go to! I took my son to the clarks in Lakeside shopping centre, he got measured etc.... same size as he was wearing. I said is she sure because he had had them for a few months and his feet have previously grown quickly.... she said not all is fine...
a couple of weeks after I noticed he was walking funny and would always take his shoes off. I took him to our loacl mothercare wihich has a clarks init and she measured him - he was 1 half sizes bigger! What a joke!

I love clarks shoes but i will only go back to that shop now!

Ahhh the good old days, I remember when I was a wee tot and getting my feet measured by Clarks using those slidy scales was one of my guilty pleasures. Alas I am just far to old to get the assistants to measure my feet anymore, and I think they have automatic lighty systems now instead of the mechanical ones.
  • Ah, I forgot to ask them how often I should take my Son back to get His feet measured....He's 18 Months and takes a size 6 already!!! Hehe!

Sometimes I wonder why Clarks bother measuring their feet, as most of the time they don't have the correct sizes in stock anyway. You pick what you like and will usually end up having to make do with something else.

We only tend to buy the school shoes from there and we tell them that the shoes have to be black and I don't want the shiny ones (paton or whatever). One assistant even brought out pink trainers once!

This happened with my nephew. He was given one shoe two sizes smaller than the other. They wouldn't even exchange because it was a while before the error was spotted.I will not use Clarks again. I have also twice found a shoe for myself only for them not to be able to find its twin. This is frustrating for somebody like me with funny feet. The right shoes are a nightmare to find.

Luckily we have a Clarks and Hush Puppies outlet nearby, the Hush Puppies shoes and service has been far better than Clarks, they are so rude in Clarks when getting the kids feet measured.

Hush Puppies are far friendlier and cheaper too with better quality IMO
