Hi there,
I have 9 days of my sky + subscription left and wonder if anyone knows if I will lose access to all of my recordings when the subscription finishes ?
Thanks
Ali

If you mean cancel, as in leave Sky, then yes you definitely won't be able to view them. They're encrypted on the hard drive, and you need to be subscribed to the service to view them.
I'm not sure though, if you were merely to downgrade, and still be with Sky. Someone else might know."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Yes, you will lose all recording and playback functions. Even if your Sky+ box is full of programmes that you have paid for, you need to have a current Sky+ subscription to watch them. It will still work as a normal box allowing you to watch Free To Air and Free To View channels and any pay channels that you have a current subscription for.
Some people report that they could still use the Sky+ functions but this is because they were very lucky and Sky didn’t process the cancellation properly.
Get watching them now if they are important.
If you have definitely given up on Sky+ for ever, you should consider selling the Sky+ box and buying a standard box for less money. Maybe someone doing the reverse of you will agree to trade. Look on ebay completed deals for relative prices.0 -
Thanks for all the replies. Contemplating just buying a PVR, however I know the functionality is never going to be as good as sky +.
I don't think we will sell it just yet though as Im sure my wife is going to miss it. We could afford to keep it but with the amount of repeats on, and having watched all the older stuff that we missed first time around, just can't justify it.
Thanks again.
