hi we bought our house 7 years ago for 45000 it was a hole and we have done it up added a conservatory and decking (i love the conservatory and outide will really miss it). we take our kids to a school out of catchment because its a hell hole where we live and im sorry but the schools arnt good enough for my kids (they come first). we are looking to sell and we are really wanting to private rent near school. whilst we have been here we have had our car smashed, been burgled and had problems with nuisence neighbours we really like the idea of renting and have hated this house since we have bought it.does anyone else rent and love it i have always been told you buy a house but i really really hate owning it. Plus the money we will get out of the sale of our house we could start a buisness that we have always wanted to do. Any thoughts appreciated
thanks pss

I didn't want to buy for years. Plenty of advantages, not least the freedom to move with your job, and if the neighbours irritate you
I could have stretched myself and bought 4 years ago but would most likely have wasted a lot of money doing so.
We have bought now as it makes sense for us, and we can afford a place we really love. But I wouldn't buy just for the sake of owning a property.0 -

So if you believe your house is unsaleable and that no person sane or insane would buy it, you are stuck.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
someone will buy it cause they buy to rent them out that was'nt the question.0

I've owned for 30+ years. I rented for 10 months about 6 years ago (long distance job move and slow sale). Our rental was great and in the street we live in now. But..I wouldn't rent again unless I had absolutely no alternative.
Every house I've owned I've walked into and thought 'this is where I want to live', the rental I just thought 'this will do'.0 -
I rented for about 8 years, and loved the flexibility it gave me for work (i.e. I could up and move with very little notice), but ultimately, renting will always be second to owning my own home.
We're thinking about selling our current home and buying something detached and bigger, but as very little comes up for sale in our chosen area, it will probably mean moving into rented for 6 months, which will put us in a stronger position to buy again.
I would never consider renting on a permanent basis again.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

What do you want more? To own a property or to run your own business?
We were in a similar(ish) situation - buy a bigger place and have no spare money or go and rent a bigger place and have enough money to be able to afford to start a family. We worked out what was more important to us and we're currently trying for a baby now0 -
i rented until last year for a number of years and loved the freedom it gave me...i have not stopped spending since i bought..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
