i recently opened a new bank account. it's a santander basic current account. i've gone onto the saas website to update my details and i'm being told that my sort code is invalid. does anyone know why this might be the case? i'll be phoning them at some point for an explanation but they put you on hold for ages as they're very busy at this time of year. it's strange because my wages are paid into the account no bother.

I thinks it may because they have been allocated some new sort codes which may have not been updated on some companies system.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

i did read that on one of the threads. i reckon that's what it'll be. it's hardly ideal since i'm due my first payment from them in 5 weeks and it takes them 3 weeks to update your details. i'll give them my brother's account details in the meantime. thanks by the way0

I'm pretty sure you can only get it paid into an account in your name, so your brother's might not be suitable. SAAS site does say that:
We will make all payments straight into your bank account if you give us valid bank details. If you don't give us valid bank details we will send your first instalment to your college or university for you to collect there.

So you could just get a cheque sent to your uni in September.
It's only a game

I've had a similar problem at work - Satander have some new sort-codes so companies that use BACS or DD's etc have to add them in to their software packages.
Most computer systems have a standard list of sort-codes for validation purposes so new ones cause problems like this.
Suggest you email/phone SAAS and ask them to update their systems.0 -
ok guys thanks for the heads up. it's never straight forward with saas is it?
