HSBC bank student account 2011/2012: We want your feedback

  • Just some information for people who want to switch to a Graduate Account after they graduate and if you are overdrawn with a HSBC Student account.

You need to approach your choosen Graduate Account Before you graduate so your HSBC Student Account doesn't revert to a normal bank account, and consequently charging you interest.

Hope this helps some of you.
  • Utter pap!

I am classed as a mature student (26) with a mortgage and no other debts, I applied for an account nearly 4 weeks ago and heard nothing so I rang them yesterday to be told that my credit was very poor, they went through experian to get my score (funny that so did I less than a month ago and it was displaying as good) and they would not give me an account nor would they explain why past the experian account even though I told them I had viewed it and it was fine.

Now all my bills are up to date no defaults and a good credit rating (I don't like them and often think they are bull but if they say they have used it then will stick with it for now) the same goes for my H we use our accounts very well, no missed payments and all that malarky yet I am refused credit but a young one possibly with no sense of money at all is given a grand overdraft and a credit card-what the merry hell!

What the hell is that all about I would like to know.

HSBC another one in the long line of utter doinks that run the financial world!

In your opinion! You cannot rely on any external credit agency rating as all organisations have their own method of scoring which they do not share.

Just because HSBC won't give you what you want doesn't mean they are viewed in the same way by other customers.

Yes in my opinion...that is what I thought feedback was as in feedback with regards to the HSBC student account therefore giving my experience just as everyone else has although you failed to pick them up on anything....

I said I did not rely on Experian and that is why I asked them how they scored my account, when they responded they said using Experian hence my pointing out that according to them I would have no trouble getting a bank account etc. If that is the only information HSBC give me then that is all I can feedback on is it not. As for my bills being up to date etc that is not opinion but fact I am not a dullard.

There really is no need to say just because I am not getting what I want I am making this comment. It is my opinion and my comments with regards to my treatment with HSBC I never once said they would treat everyone the same but if MSE want honesty that is what they will get from me I am not here to lie and blow smoke up someone elses whozit.
