New Maps for Garmin C310

Hi All,
I need new maps for my faithfull Garmin C310. I do not wish to buy a newer unit as I find this one far more user friendly, (and indeed safer to use on the road).
Since Garmin in their great wisdom, (and Greed) no longer supply maps for this unit, can anyone tell me if they have found a third party supplier of maps for old Garmin units?
Cheers!

I'm fairly certain that there are no third party map suppliers for Garmin units, and that they take measures to ensure that each map will only run on the unit that it's registered to.0

This is very similar to inkjet printers, where manufacturers make their money on new ink cartridges. However, they haven't locked down the market like Garmin has... (And, logically, since maps take £huge to update and keep correct, which third party would be the slightest interested in providing them for a diminishing older-satnav market?)0

I think the OP actually means that you can't get map ~updates~ for that model.
As far as I can tell, you can still buy complete, up-to-date maps for that model as downloads directly from Garmin - as well as on SD card from Garmin, or from resellers such as the one you quote.0 -

Garmin comes originally from an aviation background
They provide airspace maps for pilots in GPS units.
It's rather more important that these are correct and not alterable by "third parties" whose accuracy might be rather less than desired.
So I'd indeed suspect that Garmin would have lots of experience in "locking down their units".
So while the OP would indeed like a cheap third part supplier for their garmin unit - I'd suspect they would be rather less enthusiatic if they learn't that their flight to wherever was run on a similar 3rd party update to the controlled airspace maps. Strange that innit.0 -
Thanks for the input chaps. I have looked at the SD cards available from Garmin, but I do not understand how they work. Do they overide the preloaded map, or just add points of interest to the original out of date one?
The reason I ask is their disclaimer which I have highlighted below...
I sent an e-mail to Garmin and got a reply that just included a cut and past of the highlighted selection, and the suggestion that I buy a new satnav since they no longer support the C310.
I sent one back stating that I don't think their current units are as safe to use whilst on the move, and that they do not allow me to plan routes with multiple via points like my C310. No reply yet...
