Nice Restaurants in Dublin?

Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a nice restaurant in Dublin?

I'm heading there for a weekend and would like to treat my parents to a nice meal.

We're not fussed on anything touristy as such and will be staying close to St Stephen's Green - but could get a taxi if needs be.

Anyone have any good recommendations? Trip Advisor etc. have been helpful but it would be nice to get a word of mouth endorsement.

As a family we quite like seafood, steaks and a nice bottle of wine!

Many Thanks!

I've been looking at Il Segreto and the Thai restaurant Diep - Le Shaker from my research online. Has anyone got any experience of either or any other suggestions?

There are loads of good restaurants in Dublin, it's now known for it's good food. It is however very expensive, so you may wish to consider this as part of your choice.

I say this as someone recently charged £45 per head for a microscopic 2-course meal plus amuse-bouche in a Michelin starred restaurant.

  • Thnks VfM, I know it's more expensive to eat in the city centre and certainly noticed this when I read the menu for Il Segreto! It's a special meal though and I've saved enough for something nice (but don't want pretentious or very grand) - just looking for recommendations of somewhere tasty with a good atmosphere.

For authentic Malay food in Dublin, I can personally recommend Nyonya Malaysian Restaurant, 76 Dame Street. Phone number is 01 6707200.
