Paid for the wifes car on an interest free cc, the garage added 2.5% for the transaction.0

err.... what's wrong with a 0% credit card?
And by the way my current car had cost me over £3000 in repairs (not though accidents or incodents either) this year so I don't think it is actually the cheapest option.
The 1st line of my last post is what's wrong.
If they give you zero% then there is a very good reason.
You need to know why.
Possiblites are that's it's just pre to a model change and they have old stock left, they are basic models lacking in the luxuries and etc etc, there is always a reason to point peeps in the way of 0% options.
If any of these suit you then great,:T, but my intention was to alert you to the fact that they really want rid of certain cars,
Plus, and it's very big plus, the fact that you have spent £3k on this car surely indicates that you need to give it time to pay you back???I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Sorry Cyclone, you misunderstand. VW weren't offering 0%. They were offering me the priviledge of paying £325 for them to arrange finance and then 13.9% APR, which is why wanted to use my 0% credit card to pay for the car. I will then pay the credit card off within 6 months, therefore no cost to me.
Does that make more sense?Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Most of the dealers I have dealt with normally charge for credit card payments above £1000.
Thanks Mark. I see that Scotsman paid 2.5% fee - does that sound about what I should expect to pay?Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Confusion reigns,
I was referring to the original post about 0% finance deals on cars not credit cards,

I sell cars for a ford dealer and most of the time there is no such thing as 0% however sometimes there is a manufacturer backed marketing programme such as what vauxhall have on now where the manufacturer pay for the 0%. Altho sometimes the manufacturer may make the dealer pay a small subsidy towards this, as I don't work for vauxhall I don't know the ins and outs of the deal.
On a used car you will never find a 0% deal as the dealer will have a base rate from the finance co and if they go below this rate ie to offer you 0% then they will have to pay for this. This then comes out of the profit in the car which in theory you could have haggled off the screen price instead.0 -
I am in the process of buying an Eos from a registered VW dealer and am disgusted with them on several levels. The most pressing issue at the moment is that of finance.
I was all set to pay for it using my 0% M&S credit card and now they are claiming that they do not accept credit cards. Could this be right?
I will be writing to complain about the other issues I have been having (ie them finding it acceptable to round up the price of the car)
There's more than one VW dealer in the country, FYI.0 -
is the leaking roof syndrome on the eos cured now then?0
