Pre Paid Credit Card Help!!

Hiya

I have a prepaid master card which I got to build up my credit history. I have had it for 6 months so far and pay £4.95. I have rarely used it and just top it up with £10 now and again to make sure the fees are covered. However this month I was away on holiday and comletely forgot about topping it up. My payment is supposed to go out on the 4th but there wasnt enough money on the card to cover the payment. I went to the post office and paid £10 onto it on the 8th and the money appeared on the card today. I was just wondering if they would take the payment now there is money on there or have I completely fluffed my credit building by missing the payment as the money wasnt there on the 4th? I just wondered if anyone knew what would happen or had done this themselves. Im so annoyed with myself for not checking before I went away. Thanks

Who is the card held with?

You may be better off phoning them to explain etc.

They will probably mark it as a late payment, someone on here before did the same thing. The following is from their website.....It used to say things like "missed payments will have a negative effect on your rating" but they seem to have removed that.
    • Make all your monthly payments on time and you’ll have proved that you can manage credit responsibly

I could ring them but was just trying to save time and money by seeing if anyone else had done the same or new what would happen. The payment is only 3 working days late but I suppose late is late. I think I will just top it up with the remaining £30 to cover the card until it ends. thanks

Quite a few on here have taken these things and then "forgotten" to make the payments.......

I would imagine it does not look good as it is a proper agreement in line with the cca.

I would seriously give them a bell and try and blag or beg.

I rang them and they said the payment would go out tomorrow and that it wouldnt make a difference as it wouldnt go as a missed payment and that it wouldnt effect my credit rating and I could miss as many payments as I liked as if the balance was £0 then a payment would be due to them as the card isnt in use. Confused but relieved. Just going to top it up tomorrow to see me to the end of the year and then I can cancel it.
