I'm interested in volunteering in Africa during the university break for about a month to support the course that I'm doing. I've had a quick search on the internet but am swapped with the amount of charities/companies offering placements. Can anyone suggest any reputable charities that they have actually used and offer genuine opportunities to help rather than glorified holidays?

Have you checked your uni clubs and societies? Here there are a few groups who arrange volunteering work over the summer breaks and fundraise throughout term.0
