Autoruns is not linked to malwarebytes - it's a programme that lets you stop unnecessary stuff from always running, all the time.
If you go to c/programme files just delete ccleaner in there - try the uninstall option if it's there first , but you should be able to r/click and delete it.
" I can run full malwarebytes " - well have you , did it find anything ?0 -
I think Spakkker means instead Startuplite, (rather than Autoruns) http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/startuplite
I've no concern that the CCleaner problem is a virus, others have had the same issue with the new version. You may wish to ask about ask in the CCleaner forum how to fix that: http://forum.piriform.com/
Is your antivirus working properly now? or are you still getting warnings that it's not running? If so, you might:
1. Download a copy of Avast to the desktop http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free.exe
2. uninstall Avast
3. use the aswCLEAR program to remove remnants http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe
4. reinstall Avast using the file on the desktop0 -
Err, yes , I do mean Startuplite - I used autoruns just yesterday and er .. well .. got mixed up ! Autoruns is same, but complicated.
I often recommend to use ccleaner/tools/startup and say to disable everything except antivirus but you were having ccleaner probs.
I use an older version of ccleaner which works for me so I've not changed it.0 -
