Looking to take a multifunction pliers which has screwdriver, knife, tourch bottle opener etc on it as a best man gift its going to be personalised and also personalised in its box,is this something that would be classed as banned to take with me cause its got a knife in it?Ok i know as its got this pliers etc then this will not be allowed in the hand luggage but would this be a problem to put in case and give as a gift when i get over overseas

I would be amazed if found that you can carry thro on hand luggage.... There is certainly a risk to it being pinched out of your case- depends on your destination the scale of the risk... I would risk unless its worth lots of money. I always put my V Knife in my toiletry bag and even when my case was gone thro in J Burg it was nt taken. Prob not a big enough blade or not worth anything to them. Reckon their usually after jewellery0

I wasn't allowed to take a set of cable crimpers in hand luggage so I don't think you'll be allowed to take you your tool with you unless it goes in the hold. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!
