Citroen Xsara losing power in low gears

Hello, I need some help people please. This couldn't have come at a worse time (have funeral tomorrow). My citroen (2004, 1.4) starting losing power in 1st and 2nd gear, it felt ok in 3rd and 4th.

I called the AA as the engine management warning light came on. They hooked the car up to the diagnostic machine and couldn't find anything wrong with it, and cleared the fault. Whilst mucking about with it (he was working on it for 2 hours) the low fuel light came on so he asked me to drive to petrol station (he would follow) and see how it drove. OH came with me and it stalled in 1st, OH had to push it to get it going. At the end of 2 hours the guy from the AA was at a loss and said put it into the garage. So thats what I did this morning.

After 4 hours investigation, no fault codes, they haven't found anything wrong with it. They've had my car in bits. But still no cause . I phoned Citroen who sla**ed off my local garage and AA and said they'd want a horrendous amount of money before even looking at it!

Anyone heard of this before? Can anyone help please? This is the last thing I need at the moment. Not just from the money point of view but also from getting to my Grandpa's funeral. :(

Do you know what fault was recorded and cleared?

for the AA they said it was ECU, for the local garage they said it was the circuit inbetween the lambda sensors. The garage said every time they hook the computer upto it, its showing different codes. Its like there isn't enough fuel getting through. Its home now after limping it back, but its virtually undriveable.
