I do understand your position - but I cannot agree that two months absence is not excessive for a small company (or in fact for many larger ones). And you knew that at the beginning because you offered to resign if they wouldn't give you the time off. It would seem, perhaps, that they have taken you up on that offer. An offer which you put in writing, which certainly undermines any claim that you might make. Frankly, it would seem that whether this was well done or not, you both have the outcome that you desire. You were not ready to go back and now do not want to either. And it would seem that they cannot support your continued absence. Perhaps it would be best to accept that it is time to move on?0
