Compensation amount

We have recently got back from our usual holiday, hiring a mobile home on a camp site in France. We are regular customers with the company and have always been happy. This year, the hot water wouldn't work for 6 of our 14 days. The couriers, although very helpful, couldn't fix it themselves and had to wait for the maintenance team to replace the whole boiler. In the meantime, we had to queue at a wash block. We paid for a mobile home, rather than a cheaper tent, so we could have showers and do the washing up in the privacy of our own unit. The couriers gave us a compensation claim form and I have sent that off, but I have no idea how much is a reasonable sum to expect. The holiday cost us £2200. Does anyone have an idea, please?

could you not boli cold water to make it warm, and then wash with that?
Basically, i would be suprised if you were offered anything more than a token gesture, such as £20 / £30.

I would say a percentage of this given that there are various benefits to a mobile home over a tent and washing is only one of them. The difference between the mobile home and the tent price perhaps.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my post. I have clicked the "thanks" button for you. We are receiving a cheque for £175 which I think is quite reasonable. We WILL be using the same company next year!0
