3 Mobile and Phones4U

Options
What a motley crew this pair are!!!

Since the fateful day I made the worst mistake and was convinced by a P4U sales team member that 3 were worth switching to, I have experienced the following:

- 2 months phone insurance discount that didn't happen. When I queried this with P4U after the first dd charge - they denied the conversation had happened!
- A 6 month discounted 18 month contract that I was told could be altered after 6 months to a lower tariff that I have now found out is locked for a further 3 months
- 2 lost DD set-ups with 3 resulting in them warning me about non-payment of my bill! They managed to take out the first payment but then said my bank had refused the other payments x 2 (absolutely no way, checked and there was plenty of money in the bank and the bank knew nothing of this). This caused me real issues because I am constantly on the road and don't usually need to take my bank details on the road with me, so it took some time before I could get this sorted.
- Internet access (minimum use to access road/traffic information) included within the tariff according to P4U that 3 are charging me extra for.
- A faulty nokia handset (6280) that apparently, only the three network version has an issue with. Having been led a merry dance by the customer service rep about disabling all the functions on the phone to prevent my battery draining, I found out on the Nokia forum that its a known issue with the model I have. I will need to lose for three days so they can tell me its faulty - the Nokia forum is full of disgruntled customers about this one!
- Poor service in areas suddenly for apparently no reason (ie signal one minute then nothing - this has been bad since they moved away from partnering with O2 and switched to bl**dy Orange who made my life misery when I managed a corporate account with them for my previous employer!)
- Change to T's and C's so that if a tariff is reduced, they charge £25 for the privilege! This has been introduced with effect from December 06.

I understand that the T's and C's would have told me that the tie-in period was 9 months - not 6, but actually I have to say either I have been very unlucky with this contract/supplier or I have been the luckiest mobile user to date not to have had issues in the past with my previous suppliers - Cellnet (long time ago) and t-mobile.

The contract I signed up to was the most expensive I have ever taken (I need the phone for working purposes so get some costs back) and this is by far the worst service EVER.

Anyone else had problems with these two?

  AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

OK vent over!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

  • I don't know about Three, but P4U are the devil. Full of false promises. I will never go back there.
I'm with O2. Customer Service seems fine, but the coverage is dreadful.

    Hi

I was also told by P4U that I could lower my tarrif after 6 months, a few days later I looked on 3 web site and found the same as you - could not lower it until 9 months.

I took my phone back (14 day refund policy) the guy went a funny shade of white when I told him either the sales guy had lied or he doesnt know the product he was selling, and that I wanted to cancel the contract.

He rang H/Office, they pursusded me to stay by giving me the 3 months in cash back and promised me that they would still lower it for me at 6 - we shall see.
  • I've NEVER known anyone happy with 3 mobile. Their coverage is poor and the reception shocking. They seem to be offering real bargains at the minute. I'd rather pay a little more for something that works!

My mum got my sister a new pink phone on a £10 a month tarriff. The sales "man" (18 yo kid) said the deal was 1000 free texts a month.

My mum called orange after signing up, and they said they had never run such a deal!

    Bunch of lying crooks!

It took my mum and dad 2 trips to the store and countless phonecalls to get phone refunded, but they refused to refund the £10 line rental already paid.

    AVOID PHONES 4 U
