Cheapest way to book a holiday for 5?

Hi all

After some advice please for the more experiences (than me! holidayers...

Desparately want to go on hols with my family - me, DH and 3 kids 4, 7 and 9.

have been looking and searching like mad, and we are looking at about £2500 for all of us to go to somewhere like Turkey for 1 week on a B&B basis. We are probably looking at October - around half term....think it may be cheaper for us to go for 11 days at go at either end of the half term holiday.

Does this seem reasonable?? Could I do it all myself cheaper and still have a good holiday (would book on Visa credit card)

Any advice/ideas on how much I should be looking to spend (in an MSE way) on the following:
  • Flights - willing to travel to whichever airport is cheaper as we are in West midlands so easy to get there
  • Hotel - Fethiye, Marmaris
  • Food - for 5 of us
  • Fun & Frolics - don't drink or smoke and won't be shopping loads!
Want to be able to do activities and just have family time & create some memories ...

Any tips and advice welcome.

You can get it for £1634 on opodo.co.uk...self catering in Marmaris f/ 10 days leaving 10th oct birmingham

same dates etc but for £1646 b and b at a different hotel

You will easily get under your budget. just have a look around and read Martin's articles on cheap hols.

also, ropcashback are offering cashback on holidays with Opodo
  • Thanks so much for your reply and comments daggy.

need gto get some serious money made before then to pay for it! Just because I really want it, does not mean I can spend our emergency savings on it....as I am starting to remember....
