can someone explain what this is as it has randomly appeared on my startbar and can I get rid of it without damaging the laptop

not sure how it got there but use msconfig
http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/
to find the entry in the start up for it and untick it
when you restart it won't be there and no damage done
