monitor is taking its time to switch on

My monitor takes ages to turn on.... the green light just keeps flashing for a while but eventually comes on say 20 to 30 mins later...

So does anyone know what could be the problem?? thanks:mad:

    What make is it?....is it an LCD?

    And how is it connected, VGA/DVI/HDMI?

    It's almost certainly imminent power supply failure - I've seen several like it recently, that gradually take longer and longer before the capacitors finally manage to get up to minimum voltage.

    It may be possible to repair/replace the power supply, but generally it's not worth it except for large/high resolution monitors.

    My monitor does the same thing when connected with DVI, but if i switch the monitor off for a minute and back on, it starts up right away, when i connect the same monitor with VGA, i don't get this problem......i have never looked into it but this is what happens to me.:)
