I thought it went, wedding ring, then eternity then engagement? As usually eternity rings are pretty flat so then you dont get a wobble on with it in the middle! lol

I'll be wearing my engagement ring first and wedding ring 2nd.

Mainly because we won't be wearing wedding rings often (so easier to take on and off) and I'll feel my engagement ring will be more secure being on the finger first.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Fawny, do you mind me asking where you found yours? Or where you think has a good selection? I suspect that Mr A is going to regret his choice of engagement ring in the next few years :rotfl:.
    Mrs Atobe,
I have a curved engagement ring from Marlows and when we went to buy the wedding ring, I just chose the thickness of band I liked and they shaped it for me to fit with my engagement ring. They look really funky together! The jewellers kept my engagement ring, but only for two days, which was great! Whether they would do this by post or something, I don't know.

I'll probably wear my engagement ring on my right ring finger because it's silver and I don't want my wedding ring to scratch it.

I feel so stupid - I never even thought of wearing both at once!

I assumed that once I got married, I'd exchange the engagement ring for the wedding ring. (this is why we bought a relatively inexpensive engagement ring but are splashing out more on the wedding ring, because the WEDDING ring is the one i'll wear for the rest of my life!)

Now I'm all confused. I work in a hospital, so can only wear one plain ring (no standing stones, embedded stones are okay), so I suppose I'll wear just the wedding ring at work. Not sure if I can be bothered to put the engagement ring on and off all the time - it'll probably get put in the jewellery box, I guess.

(kinda feel worried that I'm doing it 'wrong'!)
    Life on a shoestring!

There is no right or wrong way. :) You don't have to wear any rings at all if you don't want to! You certainly don't have to wear three rings on one finger (wedding band, engagement ring, eternity ring).. I have little fingers and there just wouldn't be enough room! You wear them how ever is best for you! If that means putting one ring on a different finger/hand or even in a jewellery box so be it!

For me my 'non-engagement' ring means so much to me (it's my 30th birthday ring made using the sapphire from my 21st birthday ring and the diamonds from my grandma's engagement ring) that it will stay on my ring finger when I'm married. I will put my plain wedding band on my finger first (closest to my hand) with my non-engagement ring on next (closest to my nail) for practical reasons - then I can take my non-engagement ring off when I'm doing the dishes etc without having to remove my wedding band which will stay on my finger for life.
  • I wear my engagement ring first, which is the more detailed one as it's a round diamond in a diamond shoulder setting on a platinum band, then my plain wedding ring.

I tried the other way around but it didn't feel right to me, I said to OH 'which way do you think looks better?', in a true mse way he replied "wear the engagement ring first, cos if the first one falls off it'll be the cheaper one"

Mine we're from Marlows in the B'ham Jewellery Qtr, they were fab and polished my engagement ring free of charge for the wedding, and said I can pop back anytime to get them polished for free. We scarily only took 10mins to buy our wedding rings, the lady knew exactly what would work and what size, and she was spot on.
