bluetooth doesnt work on W7

in Techie Stuff
it used to work on my old computer( xp) but since we have had a new desktop i cant bluetooth things across...
i still have the disc and i have put it in ..but doesnt want to work on windows 7 for some reason
the disc i have is:
bluetooth v 1.2.
clas 1/class2
usb dongle
if it was an old computer i would understand but i am confused......

its my sons fault!! he said the bluetooth wasnt working... i have just tried in and had to do a code and pair them up and i have done it...
