Need quick advice regarding catalogue purchase gone faulty

Hi
I purchased an ipod touch 4th gen for my son for last xmas. I think I bought it in November from Littlewoods catalogue. Yesterday it stopped working. Totally dead. Done all the diagnostics that apple recommmends on it's webpage and it's just dead.
What I want to know is what are my rights regarding this. I know Littlewoods are going to tell me to contact Apple but I know my rights are that they have to deal with it. Or so I think Ive read here....but dont know what rights are when you buy from a catalogue.
Thanks in advance

No different to buying it in a shop.
Contact the catalogue company, see what they say.
Yourr rights are a repair, replacement or refund. If they say contact Apple, I would do that to be honest,
you;ll get a respnse and decision a lot faster. Get everything in writing or email if you can.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Ok thanks will do. Im reluctant to take it to Apple as Im very disabled and the nearest Apple store is a good hour train journey and a loooooong walk and I just couldn't do it. Im not sure what other services they offer. Gonna give the catalogue a call anyway and see what happens. Thank yoU!0

Apple will probably send you an envelope to post it back in so dont worry, Ring Lwoods and see what they say.

result! They said I had to contact Apple....spoke to a very nice man and he is going to swap it tomorrow @ the genius bar. He said my 16 year old can go and swap it so no problem. The most panicky bit was finding the box with the serial number as you cant see the # on the back of the ipod as its gotten scratched.
Ty for your help I appreciate it.0 -
Hey, that's brilliant.
Good result eh.
Apple are expensive and they rely on their reputation - so well done to you.
Mind if i give you a tip, when yu keep boxes (and I always do for the guarantee period at least) put yur receipt inside it and put it away in the loft or garage, you'll always know where your reciept is.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I am usually very very careful with boxes and receipts but no excuse but 1) I moved house last year and still doing repairs so everything's still higgledy piggledy and tons of stuff unpacked and 2) I have white spots on my brain because of my illness and I totally forget to do things like this now. My organisational skills have gone completely out of the window. I used to be a secretary for finance comp but now I can barely remember my name :S0

Well done even more then, keep on keeping on.
