Double Glazing quote. Rosewood Windows and Doors with lead.

Hi there,

First time buying double glazing and we've been looking for a while!

We've tried Everest (I think) and Coral and now we have a quote from a local firm with a good reputation.

The local firm has the best quote at £4820.

Does this sound like a good price? We don't know if there is room to haggle a bit and by how much?

It's for PVCu Rosewood Windows and Reinforced PVCu Doors:

Front door 2200 by 900.

Kitchen 2200 by 900 with 2 clear panels (security glass).

1 kitchen window 1200 by 900 side opening (security glass).

1 Bedroom 1100 by 1400 high. Top opening with double sided lead.

1 lounge window 1100 by 1400 high. Top opening with double sided lead.

1 bedroom measuring 1200 by 900 (no lead) side opening.

1 bathroom with obscured glass 900 by 900 side opening.

Thank you!

Rosewood is more expensive than traditional white pvc , I think £4820.00 is quite a keen rate , You could offer them cash as if they are a smaller outfit they may then discount it more for that as when I did window fitting all cash deals were considerably cheaper !

Thanks, well that's good to know that it seems good.

Though they're local they're still quite an established firm do you think that would still work?

Ring them and say if I pay you cash can you do me a deal , even if you get a bit of a saving its worth while, but the figure for the items you are getting looks very good.

You could ask them to give a lot more detail than that.

    Secure by design ?
    PAS 24 ?

No point having a cheap front door if it doesn't keep out the bad guys.
