i would go out there with no money... but i feel i would need 3 grand anyway, because i want my overdraft paid off before i go, then flights and visa..thats 2,000, then probably a 1,000 so i am alright for a bit until i get settled down. But i see it could be a problem now and i wont get a loan at all!0

I'm confused. If you already have a guaranteed job out in OZ and have 16 months covered, why do you need a loan?DonaldDuck3 wrote: »my current job..(where i am CURRENTLY employed) have said i can have a job when i get back,(Although in a different department for less money) thats how i plan on paying it off..
Now I'm more confused, as in your OP you said you needed the lona to cover the period of "about 4/5 months when i get back so i have time to search for a job"0 -
you need to have 4,000 in your bank to go out there..to show you can support yourself..You must be able to show proof of this...
With regards to finding a job..this is because the job work will guarantee me upon my return wouldn't be a job i would want long-term and wouldn't pay well! so i would like to have that security! the 16 months covered is if i got a loan, that covers the first 12 months i am away and the 4 months upon my return. Admittedly it doesn't look the clearest, are you following?:)0 -
Your body might live with your parents but your head is most definitely in the clouds.
What happens if the loan money you have to repay itself goes wrong? You'll need a loan to repay the loan to repay the loan.
You may not want sarcasm, although what I think you do want is education, yours is missing0 -

Not convinced i would...i am currently employed yes (not sure i ever mentioned been unemployed opinions4u)pretty sure i did mention ironic remarks though...strange!also you mention about leaving the country...the bank don't know thats the reason for the loan..so again doubt that would affect it,in the drop down menu the option i've selected is "holiday" as there wasn't an option for "travelling" nor was there a "other"
What did you declare your income as? A figure you know you won't be earning? My dad could be an option but he says all his money is invested and he can't get to it
A year in Aus is a fabulous idea. I'd suggest saving like hell for a couple of years and the go for it.0 -
If i got my overdraft paid off, does this help my credit rating at all? How would i improve my credit rating without having any debts from the bank or outgoings apart from mobile phone? How can i improve this and how quick does it improve?
Opinions 4 u, thanks for your help but when i refer to the "visa" i am referring to what i need to get into Oz! "a working holiday visa"0 -
Nothing in this post is intended to be sarcastic.
I can see that this trip is important to you.
However it is not as important to you as you think, because otherwise you would have scrimped, saved, took on a second job, worked weekends or nights, really budgeted hard, dramatically cut back on the old social life and sold your possessions etc to get there. Trust me on this. I speak from experience. It was brutal at the time, but worth it.
Does it have to be for a year?
Will a month do?
Then come back and do the scrimping/saving thing for a few months and go out there again for a couple of months. Repeat.
You don't have to be debt-free to go.
You will get a lot more respect from people if you save your !!! off before you 'go travelling' than if you expect someone else to pay for it.
I write 'go travelling' as a lot of people won't think £400 a month wages as enough to live on.
I wrote a very mild, childish curse word in this post and it automatically changed to three exclamation marks. I like mse's style! They think of everything.0 -

As someone who knows the Australian visa system very very well indeed, that is absolute crap.
You must be going over on a WH visa (no other option for you), and as such, you mustn't go over in order to work - so be careful about talking about a guaranteed job.
The WH visa requires you to have enough funds for your time there, and suggests that AU$5000 would be considered appropriate if you don't plan on getting employment, and if you need to pay for your flight back. Evidence *may* be requested - but I can tell you that they do NOT require proof of it in your bank account.
As you say you need £900 for tickets, that must be a return ticket. And AU$5000 is closer to £3000 for the year. You are highly unlikely to be asked for proof, just to say how you plan to fund the trip (if they ask at all).
Your story has too many inconsistencies. At best, you have no idea what the visa requires.
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
I thought you could only get a working visa for 12 months and you have to work for 6 months then change employers.
No, repaying your overdraft will not improve your credit score at all.0
