Loan to travel down under

Good Afternoon,

i have been looking at travelling to Australia for sometime now but haven't had the money saved up, my friend is going out there in about 2 months and i want to go with him..
i have eben looking at going a loan for about £7,500, with this i plan on ;

paying back my overdraft which is £900
paying for my visa (£200)
paying for flights (£900)
i also plan on leaving about 3,500 in my bank, that will cover me for the 12 months i am out there and also about 4/5 months when i get back so i have time to search for a job.
Found one with my bank Nationwide at 8.2% APR and i was declined..

i have a poor credit rating as i have been in an overdraft for a few years now and failed with paying off my phone bills and thing slike that from time to time. i need to get a loan to go and will be going.

Can anyone help?

Thanks for your time

P.S Don't both replying if your going to say Don't go or be ironic as its just a waste of your own time, as i plan on going in a few months and i plan on getting a loan..need some help on getting a low interest rate, unsecured loan over probably 4 years for around 7,500

How are you going to repay the loan?

So you've no job, lots of debts, a poor credit history, want to leave the country and expect somebody to lend you £7,500 on the off-chance you might return to Blighty and might get a job in the future.

If it was your money to lend, would you consider this individual a sensible risk to take?

    Are you currently employed?
If your own bank won't lend then its fairly unlikely anyone else will.

You may plan on getting a loan, but that doesn't mean you will actually be able to.

  • LOL, what a bell end.
  • You class £900 as alot of debt? Not convinced i would...
i am currently employed yes (not sure i ever mentioned been unemployed opinions4u) pretty sure i did mention ironic remarks though...strange! also you mention about leaving the country...the bank don't know thats the reason for the loan..so again doubt that would affect it, the credit rating i agree on, and ultimatley this is what matters i fear! But i've nver had a loan or have any outgoings apart from the plan i now have in place to pay off my overdraft and my phone bill at £35 a month, i live with my parents.
Thanks for your help Tixy :)

I'm pretty sure that scooting off to Australia on a 12 month holiday counts as being unemployed ...
