At what point do you give up on weeds and completely returf?

Hey All
I know its probably WEED session right now, but I only have a little garden and I'm pulling out 25-30+ weeds a week/fortnight at the moment.
Its doing my head in!
Its been like this since I moved into my new property about 6 months ago.
I do remove the weed in its entirety, and have found my Fiskars Weed Puller a Godsend (Even if it does pull up a bit too much grass around the weed aswell).

The grass isnt the nicest in the first place (Awful meadow grass laid on rubble in a new-ish build).

Whats anyones thoughts on ripping it all up and putting something better down?
Thanks

Errrrr, thats a really good question.
I dont honestly know. I guess they are dandelion type weeds as they look like this

Does it make any difference what type of weeds they are?
    Thanks!

What do you want to use the lawn for? Adults sedately walking, or kids/dogs?

Our grass is a mess, but ATM I just mow and ignore.....one day I'll reseed, not returf...after all this is MSE! If I had kids with balls or dogs and the weeds weren't poisonous or prickly I'd handle it in a different way to if I were an adult wanting a purely adult garden. :)

Purely adult, so I just want it to look nice. It doesnt get "Played" on as we dont have, nor plan to have children.

Then I'd reseed. :) You'll still get weeds occasionally, but be staring from a clean slate. :)

my grass is full of weeds, tho strangely not a single dandelion.
i have let it seed itsself, and am raking out the moss, the weeds come up easily, lots of bare patches tho.
keep seeding, watering, seeding, watering, raking, weeding and it will get there!

Have a look at GreenThumb - there are several other companies like them but I only have experience of this one. The weedkiller and fertilizer they apply made the world of difference to my parents' lawns.
