Unpleasant seller

I bought 2 items from a seller, the first on Sat 30th and the second on Sun 31st.I emailed to advise that I had bought both and would it be ok if she posted together, I never asked for discount postage and she didn't offer. She replied on Monday that she had already sent the 1st one out and would get the 2nd one posted. The 1st arrived Wed 3rd and I expected the 2nd to arrive soon after as she had marked it as dispatched. I emailed on Saturday as I had not received it and I am going away tonight. She replied with
as i explained i had already posted the first one.before you bought the second one, the other one will be posted as soon as, i get everyones parcels in order, as i work shifts sorry.
My reply:
I bought the 1st one on Saturday and the 2nd on Sunday so I cannot understand how you would have managed to post out in between ! Are you saying the 2nd one hasn't even been sent as it is now a week and you have marked it has dispatched ! If it hasn't been sent please refund and cancel as I go away tomorrow.
Just had the following (all in capitals)
I REALLY DONT WANT TO BE CHEEKY BUT NO REFUND. YOU BOUGHT THE ITEM AND IT WAS POSTED ON SAT. I MARK IT AS DISPATCHED SO I CAN KEEP UP WITH THE AMOUNT OF MAIL I POST. IS THAT OK WITH YOU.AND WHEN I POST AND DEAL WITH BUSSINESS IS MY AFFAIR.
I don't know whether to leave positive feedback for the first item which arrived very quickly and then leave not so good feedback for the 2nd - when it arrives, as I go away this evening for 4 days.
Any advice?

"WHEN I POST AND DEAL WITH BUSSINESS IS MY AFFAIR."
What? I know purchases are supposed to be judged individually, but I wouldn't be inclined to leave this seller anything positive on any front.0 -
Forget first and second...the issue is an item has been marked dispatched and you have reason to think it hasn't.
Do you NEED the item? If not the question is can you trust this seller? If the answer is no to both you could contact her again saying you want to cancel the transaction and if she doesn't agree a case (resolution center) will be opened, but you'd rather agree between yourselves than go behind her back... See what she says! Thanks to all posters for your never ending help and support:beer:0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I think she has now dispatched as she says she posted Sat, but this was 6 days after I bought the item and she had it marked as dispatched after 1 day. I only emailed because I was concerned it had gone astray after the first arrived so quickly !
I don't need the item but I don't think I can ask to cancel the transaction if she says she has posted?0 -
Wow, unbelievable, I wouldn't leave any FB for the 1st sale if it was all ok, obviously if there were any issues then mark as you would for any seller.
A huge neg, & low * for comms, dispatch, for the 2nd sale.0 -
If it is still within the time limits, the seller has every right to refuse your request of cancelling the transaction and it seems they have now posted it.
It is understandable from your view point, but you are being somewhat impatient.0 -

The seller didn't post for 6 days, so I hardly think that the buyer has been impatient, despite marking it dispatched days before.
So not only is she an unpleasant individual but also a liar.
Hopefully she will have done similar to a few other buyers who will all neg & mark down her stars so that she loses her account.
Sellers like that make it harder for the decent honest sellers.0 -

Taken from Ebay:
"Keep in mind that timing is important. You can open a case 3 days after the estimated delivery date (if available) or 7 days after making payment (if no estimated delivery date was provided)."
Fair enough the seller shouldn't really have marked the item as dispatched until it actually was, but that isn't really my point here.
My point is, the item was purchased on Saturday 30th July, it was posted Saturday 6th July, within the time limits set by Ebay.
Now the OP can be curious and ask where the parcel is and when they should expect to receive it, but to ask to cancel the transaction is wrong.
We know nothing about the seller, we don't know what the item is.
For example, the seller may only be able to post on Saturdays, they may mark as dispatched when they have the item parceled up and ready to go (not strictly the correct way of doing things, but it still falls within the time scales set by Ebay).
All in all, I still believe that the OP has been impatient due to their own circumstances, they want the item before they go on holiday, but if the seller is posting within the set times they are just going to have to wait.
Personally I would just reduce the stars on the feedback for slow postage.0 -
liam, most of us don't do ebay claims though, we do paypal ones so estimated delivery times are irrelevant as a claim can be started 7 days after payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Actually each listing has it's own timescale. Ebay adds the time it takes a seller to dispatch and the service used, Ebay then give an estimate for arrival. The 7 day time limit is in relation to seller protection, not an allowance given by Ebay for a seller to get something in the post.0 -
Sellers should treat eBay items as anything else they get paid for - with a reasonably high priority. That's just as good manners as it is for buyers to pay promptly.
If someone worked shifts then I'd probably understand, but aggressive answers like that are just going to annoy the most important people - the people who otherwise might have been a repeat customer."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
