First NatWest closed my account, now Co-operative...

I havent banked any of the money from the business or had any transactions yet until I sort my personal account out.
Im not aware of the three stike rule, but Ive had no failed payments.
The reason I asked that is because if the Cashminder account had been opened after the NatWest closures that might have reduced the chances of this being CIFAS/fraud linked. However, the fact that the Cashminder was being run as normal (in credit, no failed payments, etc) and then suddenly notice of closure is given after the NatWest issue does seem to very strongly support the view that there is a CIFAS marker in place (even if it doesn't appear to have shown up on your Experian search) as there is no other logical reason I can think of that a Cashminder account would be closed.0 -

Never understood it with banks and there 'suspicions' im sorry but that isn't a good enough reason/excuse to close someone's account based on 'suspicions' - and yea i understand why banks do that because they 'scare' and don't think at all. (JUST CLOSE IT !!) i know about there TOS policy etc's and they dont need to tell you the reason, but still basing it on 'suspicion' is very high.
Maybe a little bit of investigating first even get police involved etc and try and find proof of 'fraud' etc before going to close the account straight away.
I, bet many innocent people have been caught in this by a banks 'suspicion' (what a world we live in)• HSBC (Main A/C)
• Halifax Back up A/C
• Lloyds (Spending) A/C
• RBS Back up A/C
• Barclays Old A/C
• Nationwide Old A/C0 -
I would imagine they're probably a very poor one if they don't. They're basically asking fraudulent people to come to them =/

Hardly 'mainstream' names are they that focus on a different type of 'client' to the average person. They would have their own form of checks based on the type of people they are looking for but the 'average joe' looking to commit fraud/money laundering isnt going to approach them as it would be a lot harder to get an account than say... Natwest, Barclays etc.0

you edited your post after I replied - It is not harder to get an account with the above banks if you meet their criteria

To find out if you are suspected of fraud you will need to send £10 off for a Subject Access Request to CIFAS, the markers implicating you no longer appear on your credit file.
You might also want to check with National Hunter and Equifax SIRAN (this is who the Co-op use for fraud searching), although these are normally used at the time of application so you dont get the account opened in the first place.
If they suspect you of money laundering I have no idea how you go about sorting that one out, I have heard some people's names can be marked out and they use this informaton on a better to be safe than sorry basis. After all, they don't have to offer you account facilities.0
