It's generally polite to offer something before you claim things. In the spirit of the place. Plus it gives you an idea of what it's like.... some new ppl get very angry if their requests to claim things are "ignored" when actually the person offering an item has been inundated with a squillion requests, and doesn't want to reply to everyone (tho some do).
Freecycle is ace:rotfl:0 -
A quick update - the new (to me) machine is in and washing the third load as I write this. It is an Electrolux, in excellent condition and so much better quality than my old one, washes really well and is very quiet. I feel like I have won the jackpot!!:j :j :j:happylove0

I have only ever 'offered' and I hope people who collect my things are as happy as you
Haven't had a snotty response yet but boy some people are pushy......like I would like your item ring me on 1234 at xyz time and i will collect on blahday!!!! Yeh right!!!! Thats one sure way for me to hit the delete button!!
But I have met some lovely people, received a couple of nice items and got that good feeling that comes from recycling!!!!

I've had the opposite problem - one particular member asked for two things, which I happened to have and offered to her. She replied (so my email had clearly not got lost), and said she'd like them, but despite 2 further emails to her, I've never heard a word since. The most annoying thing is that she readvertised twice for one of the things after that - needless to say, if she ever replies to me asking for something I'm giving away, I will refuse, and say why.0
